Xinjiang drama showed in Beijing

Jun. 11, 2010 -- On the evening of June 9, the song-and-dance drama, Unison from All Directions made its 1st show in the national center for performing arts in Beijing. The drama was created by Xinyu Song and Dance Troupe of Hotan Prefecture. Near 100 performers gave a 90-minute cultural feast for Beijing audiences, fully showing distinct folk culture and regional features, strong sense of the times as well.

Leaders watching the performance include Wang Lequan, member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee,deputy secretary of the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee of CCCPC, Liu Qi,member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee,secretary of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, Liu Yunshan, member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee, secretary of the Secretariat of CCCPC and minister of the Publicity Department of CPC Central Committee, Liu Yandong, member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee, State Councilor, Smayi Tieliwardy, vice chairman of NPC Standing Committee, Chen Kuiyuan, vice chairman of CPPCC National Committee, Abulat Abudurexit,vice chairman of CPPCC National Committee, Simayi Amat, former vice chairman of the NPC Standing Committee. Nuer Baikeli and other leaders of Xinjiang were also in attendance.

The name of the performance is from the famous verse of Mao Zedong. The drama, in 5 parts, fully shows the prefecture of Hotan with diversified civilization,long history and glorious culture. The performance also demonstrates that all ethnic groups unite together and jointly build a beautiful homestead. Xinjiang people's gratitude to motherland, appreciation on today's life expectation for the future are integrate in their performance.

The drama includes folk storytelling and ballad singing, ethnic songs, folk dance and national instrument music. The music mixs national tradition with style of the times. By adding new elements to Xinjiang's ethnic songs and dances, the whole performance appeals every audience with special effects.
