Measures To Cope With Cold Current

Influenced by the cold current,most places in Xinjiang saw rainfalls with temperature drop from Sunday to Monday,and some places met the 1st snow since this autumn. The agriculture and transportation departments proactively clear the road, harvest crops and carry out cold prevention work.

Aksu Prefecture experienced nearly 4-hour dust weather from 18:00 on Sunday afternoon.

Baicheng County had power cut for over 4 hours due to high wind. And the electricity was resumed at night.

Altay Prefecture issued the road icing yellow warning signal to cope with the cold current. Now the national highways 216 and 217 in Altay  are under smooth operation.

In order to protect crops in greenhouses, farmers in Ining City have taken proactive measures and covered greenhouses with films and straw mats.

Farmers and herdsmen in Emin County have prepared enough forage to ensure over 1 million local livestock a safe winter.
