(Tianshannet) Updated: 2011-October-21 10:47:51

Since the 7th Party Congress of CPC XJ Committee, XJ has continuously increased investment to consummate the social welfare infrastructure construction. This year, XJ has totally invested 100 million Yuan to improve the living conditions for heirless senior citizens and orphans.

The 80-year old Hua Weigen and 79-year old Li Yufeng have lived in social welfare center for 5 years. Not long ago, they moved into a new building. This made them feel very happy.

"The new building is one third larger than the old one. The floor is anti-skidding and everything here is new."

The orphans in Children's Homes around XJ are leading a happy life. In the newly built Children's Home in Hejing County, the classrooms, dormitories and cafeterias are spacious and bright. Children can learn and play games there.

XJ has built up 14 Children's Homes and reconstructed 60-odd homes for the aged and social welfare centers with 100 million Yuan investment in 2010. This year, XJ invested another 100 million Yuan to build or reconstruct 45 homes for the aged and social welfare centers, and 26 Children's Homes. Now, over half of these projects have started construction.
