The fourth session of the seventh Karamay city committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was held on Feb 2 in the oil city in the northern part of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
Memet Aman, president of the Karamay people's political consultative conference, hosted the meeting. Wang Xinming, chief of the Party committee, delivered a government work report that reviewed the efforts and achievements the government made in 2014 to boost the city's development and improve people's quality of life. Wang also made the work plan for 2015.
Vice-Chairman Yin Zhaoqiang said at the meeting that since the third session last year, Karamay CPPCC members have raised 170 proposals. By September 2014, 77.9 percent of the proposals had been processed, and 10.4 percent of the problems were being solved.
CPPCC members should continue to give proposals and suggestions to help the local government reach the goal of building a harmonious and prosperous city, Yin said.
