Kashgar in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has been approved to enjoy the preferential policies of a special economic zone. Now it is having great opportunities in economic development as well as its cultural preservation.
Kashgar is the bridge linking China and western countries. After the Central Conference on Xinjiang's Work, Kashgar became the 6th special economic zone in China in May this year. Special support policies are being given to Kashgar, and provinces in inland China will invest more in the area. Meanwhile, tertiary industries such as tourism, catering and real estate will also be boosted to help Xinjiang's GDP reach the national average level, and build Kashgar into an international modern city in five years.
A Commissioner of Kashgar said Government has already granted us the economic development zone, where we're treated with special support policies. Thus, we should allocate the enterprises in a proper manner and make them feel confident in their future in Kashgar.
At this year's Kashgar Trade Fair which ended on July 2nd, more than 10,000 participants from China and other countries experienced the development of the ancient city and the profound cultural atmosphere. the fair this time broke records both in size and the number of participants, with 445 contracts signed worth nearly billion YUAN. The founding of the special economic zone of Kashgar also increase people's confidence in its future development.
kashgar was once a shining pearl with a long history linked to the Silk Road in western China. Over 30 ethnic groups including Uygur, Han. Kazakh and Kyrgyz have been living in Kashgar for thousands of years.
