SAN DIEGO, the United States, March 13 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Donald Trump arrived at San Diego, a southern California city located along the border with Mexico, on Tuesday morning to inspect eight prototypes of border wall that he promised to construct in presidential election in 2016.
It's Trump's first visit to California as president. He is also the first president since Dwight Eisenhower, who served as president from 1953 to 1961, to skip a visit to California during the first year in office.
His visit is expected to be met by both demonstrators and supporters. Local groups have announced that they will organize anti-Trump rallies as the president examines the eight 30-foot-tall border wall prototypes.
At least 200 people rallied and marched in downtown San Diego Monday afternoon in protest of Trump's policies. Some held signs read "build bridges, not walls,""No ban, no wall,""No human is illegal" and so on.
