Croatia welcomes Chinese investors for infrastructure projects: president

  ZAGREB, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese investors are welcome to take part in Croatia's infrastructure projects, Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic said on Monday as she received a delegation from China Railway Group Limited.

  According to a press release published by the president's office, Grabar-Kitarovic and Zhang Zongyan, the president of the Chinese company, discussed future projects in Croatia, including the modernization of the Rijeka-Zagreb-Budapest railway.

  The railway links Croatia's Adriatic port city and Hungarian capital.

  "Croatia continues to attach great importance to cooperation with the People's Republic of China in all areas of common interest, notably economy, culture and science," the president said during the meeting.

  She also mentioned numerous infrastructure projects Croatia plans to carry out in future and invited Chinese investors to take part in tenders for the projects.

  Zhang expressed interest in participating in other road, railway, port and energy tenders that will be announced by Croatia.
