Nepal's foreign relation enters new era in past 5 months, says gov't

KATHMANDU, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Nepali government on Monday said that Nepal's foreign relation has entered a new era in the past five months after the formation of new government under the leadership of K.P. Sharma Oli in February.

Releasing a pubic document covering the key achievements made by the present government in the first five months after the advent of the new government, the government said the country's relationship with foreign countries including neighboring China and India has entered a new era.

The document stated that recent visit by Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli to China and India has contributed to taking Nepal's ties with both countries to a new high.

Meanwhile, in the same document, the government has explained in detail over 80 key achievements made on the domestic front.

The key domestic achievements of the government include ending the monopoly of transport syndicates, crackdown on the gold smugglers, and end of dilly-dallying in infrastructure development works among others.

This is the first time the Nepali government has made public its key achievements since K.P. Sharma Oli was appointed as the prime minister of the Himalayan nation in February following his party's landslide victory in the parliament elections held in December last year.
