KHARTOUM, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Sudan on Thursday commended its fruitful cooperation with China, hailing it as a model for the world.

　　"China and Sudan are presenting a model to the world on fruitful cooperation in all fields," said Awad Ahmed Al-Jaz, Sudanese presidential assistant in charge of Sino-Sudanese relations, at a farewell ceremony for the 33rd Chinese medical team to mark its conclusion of mission in Sudan.

　　Chinese Embassy in Sudan organized the ceremony, which was also attended by Sudanese Cabinet Affairs Minister Ahmed Saad Omer, and Chinese Ambassador to Sudan Li Lianhe.

　　Al-Jaz urged Sudanese medical cadres to benefit from the experiences of the Chinese medical team and continue communication with them.

　　"My advice for the Sudanese doctors is to maintain the relationship between them and their brothers from China who have successively come to Sudan until they reached the 33rd session. We want this relationship to continue," said al-Jaz.

　　Omer lauded the efforts being made by China to support Sudan in all fields.

　　"China has provided great support to Sudan in the economic, medical and political fields, and we thank China for that," Omer said.

　　For his part, Li reiterated China's commitment to continuing to support Sudan and further develop the growing ties between the two countries.

　　"The strategic relations between China and Sudan have been witnessing tangible and progressive development," the Chinese envoy said.

　　China sent the first medical team to Sudan in 1974 to provide necessary medical services for the Sudanese citizens.

　　The Chinese medical team has been operating in three hospitals, including Abu Usher Hospital in Al-Hasahisa area in central Sudan, the Friendship Hospital in Al-Damazin town in Blue Nile State, and the Friendship Hospital of Omdurman in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.
