Ice fishing on Ulungur Lake of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region

  As the frozen lake spanning 1,035 square kilometers gradually melts, an annual ice fishing ceremony takes place on Jan. 21, 2019 in Ulungur Lake of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, northwestern China.

  Ulungur Lake, also known as the “Ocean of the Gobi Desert”, is one of China’s 10 largest freshwater lakes, and is home to a massive wild fish population in Fuhai.
