Chinese company donates office equipment to local Lao village

  VIENTIANE, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- A handover ceremony for China International Water & Electric Corp. Lao Branch (CWE-Laos) donating office equipment to Phonpapao village's authority was held on Thursday in Lao capital Vientiane.

  The material, including 22 megaphones, four computers, two printers, and other office equipment were handed over by Deputy Director of CWE-Laos Li Jianzhong. As Li said, the donation is to thank the Lao village's support for the company's new country headquarters' construction there, and to help the village to improve cultural infrastructure and the village authority's office equipments.

  When receiving the donation, the head of Phonpapao village, Bounlorm Keophilavanh, expressed his gratitude towards the Chinese company's generous assistance.

  China international Water & Electric Corp. (CWE) is a Chinese state-owned enterprise, which has started its operation in Laos since 1996, with lots of projects in power plants and grid building, as well as numerous support programs launched for the local community.
