Greenhouses set up in desert to develop eco agriculture in NW China's Gansu

Bordering the Badain Jaran Desert, the city used to find it difficult to develop economy. In recent years, a program has been kicked off in local region to build greenhouses in the desert, taking advantage of the extended amount of sunlight and water source from the Qilian Mountains.
