Tianshannet news (Reporter Shen Zuxiao): On the morning of May 23, 2020, Xinjiang University of Science and Technology was inaugurated in Korla City of Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Colleagues from Xinjiang University, Xinjiang Agricultural University, Xinjiang Medical University, Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics, Xinjiang Engineering College and representatives of faculty and students of Xinjiang University of Science and Technology attended the inauguration ceremony.

Xinjiang University of Science and Technology is located in the southeast of Korla Economic and Technological Development Zone in Korla City with an area of more than 1,600 mus and nearly 7,000 teaching staff and students. The university’s predecessor, the Business School of Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics, was established in 2004, of which the transferring to Xinjiang University of Science and Technology was initiated in 2018 and officially approved by the Ministry of Education in December 2019.
