The Yu Lake in Zhaosu County is like a jasper in August

Tianshannet news (Correspondent Li Wenwu): The Yu Lake in Zhaosu County of Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is particularly charming in August. The winding lake stretches into the distance. The changing colors of the lake make every tourist intoxicated and sigh for its magic.

The water of the Yu Lake comes from the Muzart Glacier on the southern slope of the Tianshan Mountains. The granite rocks produced by glacier erosion were squeezed and ground into white fine powder, carried by glacier meltwater into the Yu Lake, making the lake look like a piece of jasper embedded in the canyon under the sunlight.
