Xinjiang's Horgos port handles over 3,000 China-Europe freight trains this year

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the China-Europe freight train services handled in Horgos port, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, hit a new record high as the number of inbound and outbound China-Europe freight trains has exceeded 3,000 this year, according to local customs. The COVID-19 outbreak resulted in reduction of international air and sea transports, while land transportation has become a significant pillar for international trade. With the advantages of large freight volume, low price, access to more countries or regions, and high stability, China-Europe freight train services are prefered by more and more domestic and foreign companies, said the Horgos customs.
