Photos taken in recent days show herons, the second-class state protection animal, perch at the Ili River National Wetland Park in Qapqal Xibe Autonomous County of Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, which wild birds choose as their destination of migration in winter every year as a result of the continuous improvement of the local ecological environment.
