Smash the Lies of Pompeo and Adrian Zenz with Facts

Maitirouzi Mahemuti, Dean of School of Preschool and Art Education, Hotan Normal College

Pompeo and Adrian Zenz have repeatedly made erroneous Xinjiang-related remarks, viciously attacked the Chinese government’s governance of Xinjiang, grossly interfered in China’s internal affairs, and attempted to destabilize Xinjiang, thus curbing China’s development and obstructing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. These lies are groundless, and I firmly oppose!

My name is Maitirouzi Mahemuti, and I am a teacher at the School of Preschool and Art Education, Hotan Normal College. Born in Hotan City in 1968, I graduated from Xinjiang University in July 1990, and have been working in colleges. As a Uyghur teacher growing up in Hotan, as a participant, witness, and beneficiary of Xinjiang’s stable development, I strongly condemn and firmly opposes Pompeo and Adrian Zenz’s deliberate slandering of Xinjiang and serious interference in China’s internal affairs.

I have witnessed the development of education in Xinjiang, and I have also enjoyed many favorable policies for ethnic minorities issued by the country. I have returned to my hometown for employment under the condition of full scholarship. I am a leading cadre of Uyghur background who has grown up step by step by doing several jobs in Hotan Normal College. Like the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, I have been growing up under the care and kindness of the Communist Party and the government. As an educator, I have been engaged in education in Hotan for 30 years, and have trained nearly 10,000 teachers. Most of the students in our school come from the remote farming and pastoral areas in south Xinjiang. Many of them are from poor families, but none of them drop out of school because of their financial difficulties. This is due to the national education policy for ethnic minorities, and students do not have to worry about food when they go to school. They also enjoy free tuition, accommodation and teaching materials, and receive special grants from the country every year. The students have completed their studies without any worry, and they have entered the society to achieve employment batch after batch.

Now Xinjiang is more united, stable and harmonious than ever before. People of all ethnic groups cherish the good situation of harmony, stability, prosperity and development in Xinjiang just as they cherish their own eyes. Living in Xinjiang, we are just like the pomegranate seeds, clinging closely to each other and work hard to maintain unity, stability and happiness in our life. Let’s sing “The Great Voice of Xinjiang” and completely smash the lies of Pompeo and Adrian Zenz!
