Disregarding the facts, Pompeo maliciously attacked China’s policies on Xinjiang, wantonly instigated our ethnic relations, and deliberately smeared the happy life of the people of all ethnic groups. He tried to pull Xinjiang into his preset human rights trap to whitewash his notorious political intentions, completely ignoring the true feelings of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, to which I express my firm opposition and strong condemnation.

As a Uygur cadre born and bred in Xinjiang, I have always been immersed in the warmth and care from the big multi-ethnic family of our motherland from childhood to adulthood, from study to work, and from relatives to friends. People of all ethnic groups have forged a deep friendship during their work and life, like brothers and sisters.

As for the housing construction industry under the people’s government of Ili Prefecture, we have always given top priority to affordable housing project for rural residents of all ethnic groups, carried out the renovation of shanty towns, solved the housing safety problem of the registered poor households, and achieved the goal of “people’s access to housing”. The rural housing project has been a public project that could be seen and touched. Walking on the streets in Ili Prefecture, you can see high-rise buildings and rows of tower cranes in the construction sites. You can see people of all ethnic groups singing, dancing or strolling in the city's leisure squares with joy and happiness. Xinjiang is in the best period of prosperity and development in history with comprehensive progress in various aspects, and the people of all ethnic groups live in peace and contentment. These are the best interpretations of human rights.

There is an old saying in China, “whether the shoes fit or not, only the wearer himself knows”. China has the final say in China’s issues. Xinjiang’s affairs are up to the people of Xinjiang. It is ridiculous that Pompeo interfered in the internal affairs of other countries. As the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs put it, “Can stability and prosperity in Xinjiang be changed by the slanders of Pompeo and his like”? China’s 1.4 billion people from 56 ethnic groups are united together like pomegranate seeds and march together on the new journey of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. What can Pompeo and his like do to stop this with their mantis-like arm?” With firm determination and resolute action, we defend the stability and harmony in Xinjiang. Xinjiang will definitely have a better tomorrow!
