Cistanches Herba blooms in Mulei County, China's Xinjiang

From May to June, it is the season when Cistanches Herba blooms and matures. Under rose willows, Cistanches Herba blooms and brightens the Gurbantunggut Desert in the north of Mulei Kazakh Autonomous County, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, China’s Xinjiang.

Cistanches Herba, is a plant that parasitizes the roots of haloxylon ammodendron and rose willows, with thick fleshy stems and medicinal value. It is called "desert ginseng".

In recent years, Mulei Kazakh Autonomous County has vigorously carried out works such as sand control and sand fixation and protection of desert ecological vegetation. It is strictly forbidden to cut and excavate wild haloxylon ammodendron, rose willows and Cistanches Herba, which has greatly improved their growth environment.
