My name is Katelahan, and I live in Dalete Town, Bole City, Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture. My parents work on cotton planting all the time. Our family will show a happy smile when we see the white and flawless cotton during the harvest season after sowing in spring every year.

By planting cotton, my family has a stable income, with which my parents bought me an apartment in the city and I got married. I have a daughter now, and my family is very happy. Thanks to the white cotton, we lead a happy life.

Nowadays, cotton planting and picking have been mechanized. From leveling the land, sowing with plastic film, drip irrigation and fertilization, field prevention to picking and harvesting, cotton industry has been mechanized and operated by unmanned drones, which improve the work efficiency and reduce the cost. In September 2019, I applied to work in Yinbo Cotton Industry Co., Ltd. in Bole and signed a labor contract with the company with five social insurance offered. My monthly salary is about 5,000 yuan. Besides, the workplace is close to my home, which is convenient for me to take care of my family.

Xinjiang cotton is of supreme quality, and we all love it. The anti-China forces in the West, including the United States, concocted the lie that there was “forced labor” in cotton production in Xinjiang. In my eyes, they are like fools who have never been anywhere. They are ignorant of the fact that cotton planting in Xinjiang has been mechanized. Do they mean that we are forcing cotton picking machines to work? What I have seen, heard and experienced is that cotton has brought us many benefits and made our life better and better. To such a fact, those anti-China forces are too envious to accept. They attempt to destroy our happy life by fabricating rumors and causing trouble, which is doomed to fail!
