KORLA, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- The fragrant pear harvest has begun in Korla city, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The planting area of fragrant pears in Korla city this year reached about 31,000 hectares, while the total output is expected to reach 430,000 tonnes.
The fragrant pear of Korla is well known for its pleasing color, sweet taste and rich nutritional value. Korla is also known as "Pear City" for its fragrant fruit.
