As the snow falls in Xinjiang and covers a silver blanket on mountains, rivers and fields, the season of ice and snow starts.

The winter in Xinjiang is a world of ice and snow, a world that is pure and crystal clear. Snow white is the main color of the winter for five months long in many places of northern Xinjiang.

Located in the golden latitudinal zone, Xinjiang is one of the regions with the richest ice and snow resource in China, abundant in snow and ice resource of world-level quality, featuring high snow quality, long snow period and suitable climate, which is a perfect place for ice and snow sports and tourism. Xinjiang is endowed with the gold-lettered signboards of “the birthplace of skiing in New China”, “the origin of human skiing” and “the region of snow”.

“Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, as well as the ice and snow”. With the opportunity of Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, ice and snow sports and tourism in Xinjiang continue to heat up. White snow creates a flourishing mass ice and snow sports that is will-steeling and fitness-keeping. Floating snowflakes are as precious as silver, creating wealth and resource that make people get better-off. More and more tourists visit Xinjiang and fall in love with Xinjiang because of the snow, lingering on and forgetting to return. The white snow and ice has become another name card of Xinjiang.

The pure white ice and snow is also as hot as flaming fire. The figures of athletic skiers can be captured at the ski resorts in different size in Altay Mountains, Tianshan Mountains and Kunlun Mountains, and the winter used to be cold turns into hot and enthusiastic because of the sports and tourism of ice and snow. Ice and snow sports come into more and more households, the classrooms of primary and middle schools, and the winter life of many farmers and herders, igniting a flame in winter.
