On November 30, 2021, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region held a special press conference on delicacies. Eight video clips were shown, showcasing the special delicacies and the wonderful and happy life of people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. They refute forcefully lies and fallacies of so-called “violation to human rights” and “cultural extinction” in Xinjiang concocted by the anti-China forces in the United States and several western countries.

Hostess: Hello, fellow media reporters! Welcome to the press conference of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. I’m Hu Zhichun, the hostess of this press conference.

Hostess: In recent years, with the rapid social and economic development and continued construction and increase in investment in people’s livelihood in Xinjiang, people of all ethnic groups enjoy equal chance of development, develop and build together to share a happy life. The anti-China forces in the United States and several western countries make wanton accusations on Xinjiang, China based on lies and fabrications and slander that there are so-called “violation to human rights” and “cultural extinction” in Xinjiang. These are gross lies. The anti-China forces in the United States and several western countries attempt to disrupt prosperity and stability in Xinjiang, undermine ethnic unity, contain China’s development and growth by suppressing it with lies. It is a complete miscalculation.

In fact, people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang fully enjoy tangible human rights. Now Xinjiang witnesses sustained economic development, stable social harmony, ever improving livelihood, cultural boom, ethnic unity, harmony in religion and people living and working in peace and contentment. A scene of stability, peace and prosperity is seen across Xinjiang. The governance policies of Xinjiang has been embraced by people of all ethnic groups wholeheartedly. In the past forty odd years, the average annual growth of disposable income per capita in Xinjiang is more than 12%, the GDP growth is 6.5% in the past two years, and the GDP has reached RMB732.86 billion in the first half of this year. At present, Xinjiang is at the best period of its development and the level of human rights protection for people of all ethnic groups keeps uplifting.

Hostess: Rebiyam Wulam from Shache County, Kashgar Prefecture runs a small shop. Her husband is a chef and they have two children. Hostess: Ma Yuebao runs Halimaier Catering Management Co.Ltd. established by himself. Recently he starts to do live stream and share his experiences of cooking with others. Although he works very hard, he feels that all his worries are gone when seeing his virtuous wife and two adorable children. He plays basketball with his son and watches his daughter dance whenever he has time. Happy family has made him full of expectations to his future. Hostess: Xinjiang insists on the people-centered development concept. Its social economy sees rapid development, the construction of people’s livelihood and related investment keep expanding, people of all ethnic groups have equal chance of development and they work together and enjoy a happy life. People’s basic living standard keeps improving and their economic rights are effectively secured. Each year, over 70% of the general public budget expenditure in Xinjiang is on safeguarding and improving people’s livelihood. A series of projects for people’s benefits are promoted continuously. The quality of life of people of all ethnic groups has been improved remarkably because the conditions of food, clothing, housing and transportation have undergone radical changes.

Hostess: Sha Yong from Yumin County, Tacheng Prefecture got started in restaurant business six years ago. Two years ago, he applied for interest-bearing loans and opened two restaurants in succession. He insists on doing each of the small things well, creates quality through details and manages life with love. In daily life, he often practices and studies with his elder daughter and plays with the younger one. His biggest hope is that his children grow up healthily. Hostess: Amatjan Abudureyim opens an ice cream processing factory in Yining City. Every summer, his ice cream is the favorite of people in Yining and everyone is raving for it.With the support of the local government, he keeps on expanding the scale of the processing factory and brings people in need to get rich. Hostess: At the foot of the Altay Mountains there’s a tranquil town called Qiemuerqiek Township. Scenery is beautiful, people are unsophisticated and life is leisurely here. Many Kazakhs live here and Gulbaha Janak is one of them. She runs a milk tea shop at the bus terminal of Altay City. Recently as more and more people come to tour round the town, her milk tea shop receives many customers. She and her husband have a son and a daughter, who are good at learning and very sensible. Now let’s have a look at Gulbaha and her milk tea shop.

Hostess: Work creates the means of existence and everyone has the right to work and creates a better life. Xinjiang takes the facilitation of employment as the most fundamental project for people’s well-being. It has made every effort to increase and stabilize employment through various channels, such as encouraging individual initiative, regulatory role of the market, and government policies facilitating employment, entrepreneurship, and business startups. Meanwhile, as workers’ job preferences are fully respected, conditions are created to facilitate people of all ethnic groups to work nearby, work in the urban areas orderly and start up their own business. Full employment of the population with working ability has been achieved basically.　

Hostess: Ma Sen was a barbecue chef, played odd jobs and set up a booth at the night market respectively. With unyielding efforts, he established Ma Sen Barbecue, whose scale grows larger and larger.Besides barbecue, various kinds of tasty snacks such as meat balls, small crispy meat, egg roll with meet and fried fish are also consumers’ favorites. The big wooden bowl in his restaurant has received Guinness World Record. Besides catering, Ma Sen has also set up a noodle processing factory. Hostess: Lies will never cover up truth. People living a happy life is the utmost human right. As Xinjiang has made unprecedented achievements in social economic development and improvement of people’s livelihood, the sense of gain, happiness and security of people of all ethnic groups keeps uplifting, which is a hard fact, a truth that cannot be distorted. The fallacies such as so-called “cultural extinction” and “violation to human rights” concocted by the anti-China forces in the United States and several western countries do not hold water at all in Xinjiang. Its target is to deprive people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang of their right to labor and sustain, to make Xinjiang lag behind in isolation, backwardness and chaos and hinder the development of China. Xinjiang related lies fabricated by the anti-China forces in the United States and several western countries won’t fool the international community, or disrupt the progress of Xinjiang towards modernization, let alone preventing China from developing and making progress. The sunlight of truth will surely disperse the dark cloud of lies and shine in the world!
