Migratory birds fly to the wetlands in Zhaosu County, NW China’s Xinjiang

In recent years, Zhaosu County, Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China’s Xinjiang, has closed and protected the wetlands in the county, effectively curbing the trend of wetland shrinkage and degradation of wetland function. Zhaosu County has 561,000 mu of wetland, and lucid water and lush mountains have released a real "ecological dividend". With the improvement of ecological environment and human living environment in Zhaosu County, the species and the number of migratory birds coming to Zhaosu have also increased year by year. Recently, the wetland park in Zhaosu County has welcomed a group of swans migrating to the south. In order to ensure the smooth wintering of migratory birds, Forestry and Grassland Department of Zhaosu County has increased the monitoring and protection of wild birds to create a good habitat for migratory birds.

Ecological forest rangers in Zhaosu County patrol in the wetland park every day and feed migrating swans.
