In recent years, Zhaosu County, Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China’s Xinjiang, has closed and protected the wetlands in the county, effectively curbing the trend of wetland shrinkage and degradation of wetland function. Zhaosu County has 561,000 mu of wetland, and lucid water and lush mountains have released a real "ecological dividend".
