Cattle breeding industry helps villagers increase their income in Jeminay County, NW China’s Xinjiang

On November 21, 2022, staff of the veterinary station carried out examination of brucellosis and tuberculosis on the newly introduced cattle in an orderly manner at the Jinquan Breeding Professional Cooperative in Sarbulak Village, Karjiao Town, Jeminay County, Altay Prefecture, northwest China’s Xinjiang.

Walking into the Jinquan Breeding Professional Cooperative, the first thing that catches the eye is clean and tidy standardized cattle pens, and fat cattle are eating under the care of farmers. The cooperative has introduced 40 Simmental cows, which has further expanded the breeding scale of the park and strengthened the characteristic animal husbandry industry in Karjiao Town, Jeminay County. It is understood that the newly introduced cattle has the characteristics of good continuous production, strong disease resistance, high forage conversion rate, fresh and tender meat, and has high market value.

"This time we have introduced 40 Simmental cows. In the future, our cooperative will take the road of self breeding, so that we can make a profit." The staff of Jinquan Breeding Professional Cooperative said happily while feeding the cattle.

Jinquan Breeding Professional Cooperative in Jeminay County was established in April 2020.
