HAIKOU, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Hundreds of thousands of chrysanthemums are in full bloom in a vast field in Sanya, a tropical city in China's Hainan Province.
Chrysanthemums, which usually blossom in autumn, are mostly planted in China's northern and central regions where the temperatures suit their growth best.
Since 2021, a research team has been growing certain types of the flower in Sanya, trying to build an industrial chain of chrysanthemum farming here.
The research team plans to promote the growth of the chrysanthemums in the city, hoping that their efforts could help local villagers further boost their incomes.
