The company that exported this batch of chili seeds is a specialized and innovative small and medium enterprise focusing on the cultivation of vegetables and grains, as well as the production of non-main crop seeds. After over twenty years of development, this company ranks first in the nation for the production and sales of hybrid chili seeds, and third for vegetable seed sales; it ranks second in the production and sales of chili colorants.
“Since the beginning of this year, the company has actively sought to expand its overseas business. This export represents a new attempt,” said Ren Xiaoqing, deputy director of the company’s overseas product sales department.
To support the export of Xinjiang's high-quality seeds and agricultural products and to broaden access to international markets, Shihezi Customs proactively reviewed the company’s export plans for new varieties and new destination countries, implementing a preferential approach for first-time exports, allowing for scheduled inspections upon arrival.
Liu Gang, a member of the Shihezi Customs Party Committee and deputy director, stated that positive progress has been made in the export of Xinjiang seeds to Africa during the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). Shihezi Customs will continue to strengthen its efforts to bolster trade ties with Africa, explore new avenues of trade growth, facilitate trade, and drive the development of a China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era.
