WINDHOEK, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Namibia will host the 2024 Africa Nations Cup netball tournament in Swakopmund from December 9 to 14.
The event is expected to attract over 10 countries with both male and female teams, Netball Namibia said in a statement.
The tournament marks a significant milestone for Namibia, which will introduce its first male netball team, Netball Namibia said, adding that national trials are scheduled to start this weekend in Windhoek.
Namibia Sports Administrator Simataa Mwiya emphasized the tournament's importance for the sport's development and its potential to boost social and economic growth in the country.
The Africa Nations Cup is a major continental netball tournament organized by the African Netball, featuring top national teams from across Africa.
The event also serves as a qualifier for international competitions, including the Netball World Cup.
