Youth delegates from 11 countries begin a cultural journey in Kuqa City, NW China's Xinjiang

Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporters: Dou Xingjun and Song Duer) news: On July 2, 2025, the "Global Youth Multicultural Forum·Xinjiang Calling" event officially commenced in Kuqa City, Aksu Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Fifteen youth delegates from 11 countries, including Russia, Tajikistan, Egypt, Iran, Morocco, and Tunisia, gathered in Xinjiang to begin a nine-day cultural exchange journey.

Their first stop was the Subash Buddhist Ruins. "The preservation of cultural relics here is impressive, and the respect for multiculturalism deserves to be learned," remarked Nepalese youth Lok Bahldur B K, expressing admiration for Xinjiang's conservation of historical sites. Egyptian musician Jowairia Hamdy was also moved, "I've long yearned to experience the cultural charm of this land. I hope to pursue university studies in China."

At the Qiuci murals exhibition hall within the Kuqa King Palace, vivid murals captivated the youth. The Chinese characters depicted in the murals illustrate the profound influence of China’s Central Plains culture from the Han and Tang dynasties on the Western Regions, showcasing the convergence of diverse civilizations along the ancient Silk Road.

The event focuses on four key areas: culture, art, communication, and Sinology. Delegates will visit multiple sites across Aksu Prefecture, Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture and Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, including historical ruins, museums, and traditional villages. Through firsthand exploration, they will witness the harmonious coexistence of diverse cultures spanning both sides of the Tianshan Mountains.
