Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Ren Chunxiang) news: On July 3, 2025, Marinko Čavara, deputy speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that Xinjiang had left him with an extremely deep and wonderful impression and that he had gained a great deal of knowledge. He noted that he had witnessed the remarkable achievements in urban construction, including modern buildings, clean streets, and a vibrant development momentum.

From July 2 to 3, 2025, Marinko Čavara and his delegation visited Xinjiang. They toured the Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar and the Xinjiang Museum, and also visited several communities, enterprises, and schools in Urumqi. Through these visits, they gained an in-depth understanding of Xinjiang's achievements in economic development, social governance, cultural preservation, and ethnic unity. They also experienced firsthand the harmonious scene of social stability and the well-being of people from all ethnic groups in Xinjiang.

This was Čavara’s second visit to China and his first visit to Xinjiang. He said that he had not known much about Xinjiang before his visit, but the trip had allowed him to deeply feel the vitality and charm of Xinjiang. He noted that the ancient Silk Road culture blended with modern civilization there, and that the development of Xinjiang in China was beyond imagination.

On the evening of July 2, Marinko Čavara and his delegation visited the Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar. As soon as they entered the pedestrian street, the delegation was captivated by the enthusiastic singing and dancing, and they stopped to watch. Čavara remarked that seeing such passionate and wonderful dances in Xinjiang reminded him of the excellent traditional dances in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He expressed his hope that the two countries would strengthen cooperation in cultural exchanges to enhance mutual understanding of each other's cultures.

Under the night sky, the bazaar was brightly lit and bustling with people. Visitors from all over enjoyed their time on the pedestrian street. The delegation also joined them, strolling with other visitors. They were attracted by the exquisite handicrafts, delicious local snacks, and authentic ethnic costumes, stopping to taste, chat, or take photos. In the bazaar's naan-themed pavilion, the freshly baked naan, with its crispy crust and chewy texture, received high praise from Čavara.

On July 3, the delegation visited the Xinjiang Museum, where they were drawn to the precious cultural relics. They listened attentively to the introductions from the guides and frequently asked questions to learn the stories behind the artifacts, as if engaging in a dialogue that spanned time.

The delegation also visited the Xinjiang Islamic Institute, touring the library, student dormitories, and cafeteria. They exchanged views with relevant personnel on the conduct of religious activities. Čavara noted that the school has advanced teaching facilities and a good learning environment, and that the students' lives are convenient. He expressed his appreciation for Xinjiang’s efforts in training religious personnel, improving the environment of religious venues, and ensuring the normal religious needs of believers.

The Guyuanxiang Community in the Erdaoqiao Street of Tianshan District, Urumqi, is a large family where 16 ethnic groups live together. In the afternoon, the delegation visited the community's Party-mass service center hall, public discussion point, science popularization park, and Peking Opera class. They listened to the community staff's introductions and gained a detailed understanding of grassroots social governance and services for the people. After watching the children's wonderful recitation and singing in the community's Sinology class, the delegation members had a friendly exchange with the children and took photos together. Čavara said that the harmonious coexistence of multiple ethnic groups in Xinjiang has made him deeply realize that unity and cooperation among ethnic groups are essential for regional development.

At Goldwind Science&Technology Co.,Ltd., the delegation learned about the innovation system of the wind power industry and how green energy effectively drives high-quality local economic development.

Čavara noted that Bosnia and Herzegovina has always maintained close trade relations with China. He said that the two countries have a solid foundation for cooperation and a deep friendship based on mutual respect. He expressed his hope that both sides will work together to deepen the Belt and Road cooperation, especially in the fields of tourism and culture, where the potential for cooperation is huge and greater development is expected in the future.
