Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Dong Liang) news: On August 25, 2025, the 2025 Belt and Road International Youth Boxing Exchange Tournament kicked off at the Xinjiang Winter Sports Training Center.

Abduxukur Mijit, director of the Heavy and Competitive Sports Training Center of Xinjiang and head coach of the Xinjiang boxing team, introduced that the tournament was divided into two legs, Urumqi and Horgos.

Uzbekistan is a recognized boxing powerhouse, winning five gold medals in the seven weight classes for men at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The country's athlete, Madiyar Nadiyar Saydrakhimov, who won the bronze medal at the World Boxing Championships and was the champion of the 2019 Wuhan Military World Games, has participated in the Belt and Road International Youth Boxing Exchange Conference for three consecutive times.
"This is my fourth time to Xinjiang, China. I like it very much. Every time I participate in the training camp, my skills have improved." He said that China and Uzbekistan are friendly countries, and Tashkent and Urumqi are also sister cities that often carry out sports exchanges and have forged a deep friendship. He is also friends with athletes of the Xinjiang boxing team.

19-year-old Yimiren Turdi from the Xinjiang boxing team of China has sparred with Madiyar many times in the training camp and has gained a lot. "He is experienced, has a strong counter-attack awareness, and has a tight rhythm. Fighting against him has helped me a lot." Yimiren said that he hopes to fully demonstrate what he has learned in training in the invitational tournament and strive for excellent results. After the invitational tournament, he will devote himself to the preparation for the final stage of the 15th National Games. This exchange experience is expected to have a positive impact on his performance in the National Games.
