Capturing Glory Through Light and Shadow: The 1st Xinjiang International Photography Contest Officially Launched

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the “Future Motors Cup” 1st Xinjiang International Photography Contest was officially launched on September 28.

The contest calls for submissions in two categories:

Documentary Category: Entries that objectively record Xinjiang's cultural life, folk traditions, intangible cultural heritage preservation, key livelihood projects, and major infrastructure projects. This includes news photography, feature photography, wildlife photography, plant photography, and more. Both single images and photo series are accepted in this category. A photo series should contain five to seven images. Entries can be in color or black and white. Entries must retain the original image content without any additions or deletions, ensuring that the images remain true to the objective reality of the subject matter.

Natural Landscape Category: Entries that feature Xinjiang's natural ecological environment, cultural relics, historical sites, cultural tourism resources, and urban landscape. This category is open to all creative techniques and styles. Only single images are accepted, with no photo series. Entries can be in color or black and white. The contest also includes a Mobile Photography Section.

The judging panel comprises renowned photographers from home and abroad. The deadline for submission of entries is December 1, 2025, with an award ceremony scheduled for late December.
