"Development opportunities of Xinjiang extend far beyond its borders, embracing a broader horizon"

Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Wang Yongfei) news: The blue sky, white clouds, towering mountains, poplars, and rivers combine to form a serene oil painting with distinct layers.

"Crack, crack..." With a few sharp sounds as the horse herder waved his whip, over a hundred fine horses came thundering down the stream with a rush, adding a touch of vitality to this scene.

As the final stop of the "Discover the Beautiful Xinjiang" national provincial media interview tour, Zhaosu deeply moved Yan An, a journalist from Chongqing Daily.

Standing among the crowd and watching the magnificent scene of "heavenly horses bathing in the river," he was filled with excitement. On September 20, 2025, after the interview concluded, Yan An couldn't contain his enthusiasm and composed a more than 2,000-word article in one go when he was traveling on the bus from Zhaosu County to Yining City of Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

"It's truly awe-inspiring! I never imagined before that the horse industry could extend into such a long industrial chain. It shows that Zhaosu County has leveraged its local strengths to develop distinctive and prosperity-driving industries," said Yan An.

Not only the horse industry but also the goji berry industry left a deep impression on Yan An. "By leveraging its unique geographical and climatic advantages, the locality has blazed a distinct path for the development of edible goji berries, achieving uniqueness where others don't have it and excellence where others do," said Yan An.

Xinjiang accounts for one-sixth of China's land area. In Yan An's view, "vastness" implies that different places will have distinct characteristics and hold different "cards" in hand, naturally leading to varied development paths. This makes it even more crucial for each place to deeply grasp its own resource endowments, base itself on its actual conditions, tailor development plans accordingly, further broaden its thinking, integrate resources, and promote industrial development in line with local circumstances.

Jilin Daily reporter Zhang Yu is also deeply interested in the industrial development of Xinjiang. Goji berries, salmon, and the horse industry have all left a profound impression on him.

Northeast China's Jilin Province, which borders three countries at a glance, shares similar geographical advantages with northwest Xinjiang. "Xinjiang boasts resource advantages, geographical advantages, and policy advantages. As the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt, it enjoys favorable timing, geographical location, and human harmony. Its future development will surely become better and better!" said Zhang Yu.

Zhuang Ran, a reporter from Fujian Daily in the southeast coastal region, has unique insights into Xinjiang's salmon industry. He said that in Fujian, salmon is considered a high-end consumption item, and most people eat deep-sea fish, which are expensive. In contrast, Xinjiang's salmon is affordable and has significant market potential along the southeast coast.

"I've learned that Xinjiang's salmon has already made inroads into the southeast coastal markets, and I'm delighted about this progress in Xinjiang's industrial development," said Zhuang Ran.

From being the core area of the Maritime Silk Road to the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt, Zhuang Ran has sensed the enormous potential in Xinjiang's industrial development. He said, "Xinjiang is an indispensable gateway for opening up to the west. With increasingly favorable policies and a more solid social stability foundation, Xinjiang is destined to become an economic hub of the Eurasian continent."

Zhao Xinming, the station chief of the Luohu Reporter Station of Shenzhen Daily, said, "The timing and momentum of Xinjiang's development indeed bear a strong resemblance to those of Shenzhen in its early days. I've noticed that many people are seizing the opportunity to invest in Xinjiang. The development opportunities in Xinjiang belong not only to the people of Xinjiang but also to the entire nation and even the world," he said.

On this interview trip, he also had another mission. "Many of my entrepreneur friends are eager to invest in Xinjiang and contribute to the nation's development. I hope this trip can bring them useful information and serve as a bridge for their investments," said Zhao Xinming.

Ultimately, the fruits of development should benefit the people. Zhang Yu had a direct perception of this. "Everywhere I went, I saw people's smiling faces. That's a direct reflection of a happy life," he said.

On the evening of September 20, 2025, reporters from provincial-level media outlets across the country experienced the bustling atmosphere of Liuxing Street in Yining City. The six main streets extend in six different directions, seemingly symbolizing Xinjiang's open arms, welcoming guests from all over the world. On the streets, lights flickered, music from stringed instruments wafted through the air, and crowds thronged the area, leaving the reporters reluctant to leave.

The several-day journey left the reporters with a wealth of experiences. Kong Hao, a reporter from Henan Daily, was filled with excitement and composed a song to express his feelings about the trip: "The Bagua City with its mystic Bagua formation, opens its gates to greet the spring breeze at the foot of the Tianshan Mountains; The oasis embraces the rushing Tekes River, and we bear witness to seventy years of glorious achievements together; With diverse ethnic groups united heart to heart, we share our true feelings like milk tea; Advancing forward along the Silk Road, Xinjiang beckons you to listen."
