Chinese President Xi Jinping's proposals at the 2025 Global Leaders' Meeting on Women epitomized China's commitment to empowering women, as was vividly demonstrated in Xinjiang. Over the 70 years following the peaceful liberation, women there had transformed from being domestically confined to becoming confident contributors in agriculture, e-commerce, arts, and public service. This remarkable evolution — fueled by economic opportunities, legal safeguards, and a strengthened sense of national identity — showcased how personal aspirations aligned with regional progress. Xinjiang's women stood as symbols of both China's gendered advancement and global inspiration.
