In Xinjiang, brown bears are distributed across the three major mountain ranges: the Altai Mountains, the Tianshan Mountains, and the Karakoram Mountains.Brown bears have an excellent sense of smell and can detect scents from over three kilometers away. They communicate mainly through scent and sound, using their body odor to convey territory boundaries and reproductive status.
