Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Wang Na) news: On January 3, 2026, the Jeminay Port welcomed its first customs clearance day of 2026. Police officers from the Jeminay Exit-Entry Border Inspection Station were on duty, ensuring the orderly passage of entry-exit personnel and vehicles from various countries.
Located at the junction of China, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Mongolia, the Jeminay Port enjoys the geographical advantage of "one port linking four countries." Since last year, the increasingly close cultural exchanges between China and Kazakhstan, the visa-free policy allowing 30-day stays in China for tourists, along with the port's stable service capabilities, have attracted a growing number of people to cross the border for tourism, visiting relatives and friends through this port.

According to statistics from the Jeminay Border Inspection Station, in 2025, the Jeminay Port handled a total of 108,000 entry-exit personnel, marking a year-on-year increase of 2.4 percent, with a peak daily flow of 880 people. It also inspected 21,000 vehicles and transportation means, up by 6.1 percent year-on-year, indicating sustained active cross-border movement of passengers and goods at the port.
Yao Lin, the head of the Border Inspection Division at the Jeminay Border Inspection Station, introduced that to ensure smooth entry and exit for travelers, the station issued customs clearance guidelines during peak periods such as holidays, ensuring "zero waiting time" for clearance. They proactively analyzed and forecasted traffic flow changes, allocating police resources through measures such as "exiting before entering, staggered inspection and release, and dynamic adjustments" to ensure efficient operation at the duty site. Additionally, a green channel was established for special groups such as the elderly, children, and pregnant women, providing them with priority and convenient services.

To better meet the growing customs clearance demands of import and export goods as well as entry-exit vehicles, the Jeminay Border Inspection Station has implemented a mechanism for the cargo channel that ensures vehicles are inspected immediately upon arrival, with instant verification and release. By dynamically adjusting the deployment of police resources, the station has enhanced inspection efficiency and effectively alleviated transportation pressure at the port. Additionally, it has established a regular communication mechanism with joint inspection units and local foreign trade enterprises to precisely align with enterprise needs and continuously optimize customs clearance procedures, providing solid support for cross-border exchanges and economic development.
"Now, customs clearance is much faster, and the procedures are simpler. With advance declaration, vehicles are inspected and released very quickly upon arrival at the port," said Xing Pan, who is engaged in the import and export trade of aquatic products at the Jeminay Port. He noted that the efficient and convenient customs clearance model has significantly reduced the dwell time of goods at the port, making logistics timelines more stable and controllable. This translates to faster delivery speeds and lower logistics and warehousing costs.
