This episode of InXinjiang features American vlogger Eric Hovagim on his first visit to northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. During his visit to Kashi, he explored the ancient city of Kashi, a modern logistics centre, and various cultural sites. He also engaged with local residents from various ethnic groups, immersing himself in the city's historical charm, dynamic growth, and rich cultural atmosphere.
His firsthand experience completely overturned the one-sided portrayal of Xinjiang he had seen in Western media. Eric stated plainly that "it is simply not even close to what I have read from Western media," describing it as "a beautiful celebration of the culture." He witnessed a Xinjiang where culture is preserved alongside economic growth and where ethnic groups interact harmoniously. As a U.S. taxpayer, the thought that his money funds subversion and absurd propaganda against Xinjiang left him deeply frustrated.
