InXinjiang (108) | Foreign performers shine at the first Xinjiang International Spring Festival Gala

The 2026 Xinjiang International Spring Festival Gala was spectacularly staged on the evening of February 15. The gala brought together outstanding Chinese actors and singers, as well as foreign performers and international students from Cameroon, Poland, Zimbabwe, Portugal and beyond.

InXinjiang conducted exclusive interviews with several foreign performers during the gala rehearsals. Some of them have visited Xinjiang many times and fallen in love with its delicious food, culture and stunning scenery. Some were deeply impressed by the traditional and fashionable Atlas silk. Others have truly felt the harmonious atmosphere of people of all ethnic groups living together in unity, openness and inclusiveness.

Tungamirai Eric Mupona, a Zimbabwean doctoral student at Zhejiang University, said, "An event like this promotes that kind of civilization or dialogue. It promotes the exchanges of different cultures. It promotes these people-to-people exchanges. And for me, it's something that's pretty meaningful, because this year is what you're calling the Year of China-Africa People-to-People Exchanges. So this is part of it. And I think it helped me to really understand Xinjiang even much more deeper and to understand China even much better.”
