The 2026 “two sessions” of China concluded in Beijing not long ago, mapping out a blueprint for China’s development over the next five years. How Xinjiang can better integrate into the country’s future development has also drawn extensive attention from the international community. Recently, InXinjiang invited Muhammad Zamir Assadi, a journalist from Pakistan, to share his firsthand experiences from his trip to northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and his observations on Xinjiang-related topics at the national “two sessions”.
Previously, Zamir visited Urumqi, Kuqa and other places in Xinjiang. He highly praised Xinjiang’s unique charm in cultural tourism and cuisine, as well as the hospitality of its people. He spoke highly of Xinjiang’s rapid economic growth over the past decade, and remarkable achievements in infrastructure and digital development. From the perspective of international media, he also focused on topics at the national “two sessions” such as deepening connectivity, advancing digital integration, and upgrading the quality of agriculture in Xinjiang. He believes that Xinjiang’s development has not only effectively improved local people’s livelihoods but also brought development opportunities to neighboring countries.
In response to the false reports by Western media, Zamir said: "The Western media outlets, they always have very negative kind of propaganda and stories about Xinjiang, and I believe that those journalists, the media professionals from the Western media, they have never traveled to Xinjiang, and they don't know what real Xinjiang is about." He also sincerely invited more international media and tourists to visit Xinjiang and experience the vibrant development of the real Xinjiang.
