Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Hei Hongwei) news: The China Chamber of International Commerce Xinjiang Chamber of Commerce, also known as CCOIC Xinjiang, will organize a group of high-quality Xinjiang enterprises to participate in the 2026 Indonesia International Food and Beverage Trade Fair from May 7 to 10.

The chamber will also hold the China (Xinjiang)-Indonesia Economic and Trade Exchange Conference alongside the fair.

The Indonesia International Food and Beverage Trade Fair is a highly influential comprehensive international food exhibition in the country.

This year's edition covers 20,000 square meters of exhibition space. It showcases a full range of food products including meat, poultry, seafood, green and organic products, as well as related equipment and supplies.

The fair provides a platform for Xinjiang companies in food processing and specialty agriculture and forestry to explore overseas markets.

The trade and economic exchange meeting to be held alongside the fair will invite about 100 guests from both sides. Participants will include the commercial section of the Chinese embassy in Indonesia and the representative office of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Indonesia.

Representatives from Indonesian government departments, chambers of commerce, key industry associations and leading enterprises will also attend. Discussions will focus on industrial collaboration and trade exchanges.

As a core economic hub in Southeast Asia, Indonesia has industries that are highly complementary to Xinjiang's resource endowment and industrial structure.

China has been Indonesia's largest trading partner for 12 consecutive years since 2013. In 2025, bilateral trade volume reached 167.49 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 14.5 percent year on year. Indonesia mainly exports steel, energy and mineral products, while China mainly exports machinery and electrical equipment.

In 2025, China's Xinjiang saw its total import and export volume with ASEAN members reach 67.37 billion yuan (about 9.42 billion US dollars), an increase of 98.3 percent year on year.

Exports of Xinjiang's specialty products such as machinery and textiles expanded, while imports of fruits and vegetables remained stable.

The CCOIC Xinjiang has long been committed to cooperation with ASEAN. In 2025, it signed cooperation memorandums with key industry associations in Malaysia and Brunei and successfully held a China (Xinjiang)-ASEAN Economic and Trade Exchange Conference.

A representative from CCOIC Xinjiang said the upcoming trade fair and exchange meeting will deepen bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors. The events are expected to unlock complementary industrial strengths, reinforce the mutually beneficial relationship, and support the high quality development of regional economic and trade ties.
