Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Jarkengul Yursun) news: At 7:00 a.m. Beijing time on June 4, 2026, Xinjiang’s young mountaineer Alkut Dilxat successfully reached the summit of Mount Qomolangma from the northern slope on the Chinese side. Having previously summited the mountain from the southern slope, his successful ascent from the north has enabled him to complete a “summits from both sides” of Mount Qomolangma, making him the youngest record holder in China to achieve this feat.
According to information obtained from Alkut, he is currently descending safely and is expected to arrive at the Mount Qomolangma Base Camp, at an altitude of 5,200 meters, later tonight.
Born in August 2008, Alkut Dilxat is a student at Urumqi No. 23 Middle School and a national first-class mountaineer. Alkut Dilxat developed a passion for outdoor sports at an early age under the influence of his father. He began rock climbing at the age of seven, ice climbing at the age of nine, and started mountaineering with his father at the age of ten.
