Earworm alert! Ghanaian guy turns two nut shells into a “rhythm master” in seconds

On June 27, at the 9th China–Eurasia Expo, the exhibitor from the Republic of Ghana made a striking appearance with traditional handicrafts, including rhythm shakers.

The rhythm shaker is a traditional African instrument. Originally, it was just a fun toy that local children would make for themselves. Its construction is remarkably simple – all it takes is two dried fruits from the snuffbox tree and a piece of string. To play it, the two shells are struck against each other, while the rattling of the filling inside creates vibrations, producing a rich variety of rhythms.
