Tacheng Prefecture is among the regions in China that are geographically closest to Kazakhstan by land. The Baktu Port is characterized by efficient and convenient customs clearance procedures. It is encircled by the Kulustai Grassland, the second-largest plain grassland in the country, and can also incorporate the cross-border lake view resources of Lake Alakol.

This distinctive combination of "grassland + port + lake" serves as the basis for Tacheng Prefecture to develop in-depth cross-border tourism.
