As part of the "Visiting the Core Zone of the Silk Road Economic Belt" interview series, a delegation recently visited Hotan Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, where they toured Jiya Atlas Silk Co. Ltd.

Maldivian correspondent Moosa Mathloob of Public Service was particularly struck by the harmonious blend of ancient weaving traditions and modern techniques, which he called "amazing." He noted that the exquisite garments are popular far beyond China, and he was genuinely moved to see local artisans earning stable incomes from their craft – a vivid testament to how heritage and progress can go hand in hand.
