InXinjiang (128) | Maldivian official understands Xinjiang's governance approach after visit

This episode of InXinjiang features Ibrahim Muhammad, Member of Maldivian People's Majlis and Vice President of the International Halal Tourism Organization (IHTO), who set foot in Urumqi City, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, for the very first time. After field visits across the region, Ibrahim shared comprehensive, objective first-hand observations based on what he saw and experienced. He spoke highly of Xinjiang's neat urban landscapes, sound and accessible transportation networks, and impressive standards of overall urban planning and construction. Xinjiang has yielded fruitful outcomes in port development, medical and healthcare services, public livelihood infrastructure and other sectors, offering a wealth of modern development experience for the Maldives to draw upon.

On social governance, he fully affirmed that Xinjiang relies on the rule of law to foster a peaceful, orderly living environment where people of all ethnic groups live in harmony. Drawing on his profound experience in cultural and tourism sectors, he pointed out that a stable and orderly social environment serves as the precondition for regional development. Only a solid development environment can drive sustained and steady progress in the economy, cultural tourism and other industries.
