From July 15 to 18, a delegation of senior Croatian officials visited Xinjiang. They toured a themed exhibition in celebration of the 70th founding anniversary of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and other sites in Urumqi, and also made a field trip to Kashi to gain an in-depth understanding of local social life.

A member of the delegation noted that Xinjiang's development achievements over the past 70 years are deeply impressive with clear goals, firm implementation, and the combined efforts of all parties have made this success possible. Nermin Botonjić, assistant for Process Management of the Islamic Community of Croatia, particularly emphasized that education is the foundation of development, and praised Xinjiang's learning system that covers all age groups. In the ancient city of Kashi, they experienced firsthand the integration of Silk Road historical heritage with vibrant present-day life, and sincerely recommended that everyone come and see for themselves — "seeing it with your own eyes is the best way to understand this place."
