China's first cross-border multimodal transport train under a single-document of goods transships in Kashi

Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Jazyra Nesipbek) news: On July 27, 2026, the freight train for China's first cross-border multimodal transportation service operating under a single document of goods arrived in Kashi Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. A total of 53 commercial vehicles and auto parts were unloaded smoothly and then reloaded onto freight trucks before departing Kashi North Railway Station.

These goods were shipped by sea from Incheon, South Korea, to Yantai Port in east China's Shandong Province for transshipment. On July 21, 2026, they were put on the X80442 China-Europe freight train departing from Yantai Port and arrived directly at Kashi North Railway Station on July 27. After that, they were handed over to customs-supervised trailers for outbound connection and transported by road to Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

This entire journey adopted a seamless intermodal transport model combining sea, rail, and road transport. It took only 12 days, which is five days shorter than traditional transport routes, effectively reducing cross-border logistics time and lowering transport costs for foreign trade businesses. This has established a new cross-border transport corridor linking Incheon in South Korea, Yantai Port, Kashi, and Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan.

The biggest highlight of this freight train is the full implementation of the cross-border multimodal transportation service with single-document goods throughout the entire process. Relying on the 95306 national multimodal transport platform built by China State Railway Group, it enables the mutual recognition and exchange of documents for sea, rail, and road transport links. This thoroughly breaks down the barriers between different transport modes. Enterprises only need a single entrustment to access integrated services featuring "one set of documents, one-time settlement, one container for the whole trip, and end-to-end accountability." This fundamentally solves the pain points of complex procedures and the need to coordinate with multiple parties in traditional cross-border logistics, greatly improving the convenience of cross-border trade.

Chang Jun, manager of the Kashi Business Department of the Korla Railway Logistics Center under China Railway Urumqi Group, introduced that the Kashi Business Department made early preparations and careful arrangements to ensure the transport organization of this freight train.

"We closely followed the train connection schedule, notified relevant parties of the estimated arrival time and train consist information in advance, and optimized the loading, unloading, and wagon handling processes. We set up a green channel for the freight train, strengthened coordination among internal loading, freight, and dispatching teams, and proactively coordinated with customs, agency companies, and road transport operators to minimize secondary handling. We ensured quick unloading, quick loading, and quick dispatch after the train arrived, making every effort to guarantee the train's transport organization," said Chang.
