JAKARTA, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on Tuesday warned of waves of up to 4 meters in parts of the country's waters as two tropical cyclone seeds developed east and west of the Philippines.

Agie Wandala Putra, acting director of maritime meteorology at BMKG, said tropical cyclone seeds 94W and 9SW are strengthening wind circulation over northern and southern Indonesian waters.

BMKG forecast waves of 2.5 to 4 meters in the northern Strait of Malacca, the Indian Ocean west of Sumatra, and waters south of Java, Bali and West Nusa Tenggara from Tuesday to Friday.

The agency urged fishermen, coastal communities and operators of fishing boats, ferries and cargo vessels to remain alert and closely monitor weather conditions, warning that rough seas can pose risks to maritime safety.
