BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Brunei's minister of transport and infocommunications has called for a stronger focus on implementing digital initiatives under the Digital Brunei 2030 strategy, stressing that the country must shift from digital planning to execution.
Speaking at the opening of the Digital Future Conference and Exhibition 2026 on Tuesday held near the capital, Mohammed Riza Haji Mohd Yunos said Brunei's digital transformation should be driven by action, collaboration and measurable results.
He also announced an upcoming accreditation program, IKTIRAF, to enhance the competitiveness and professional standards of Brunei's ICT industry.
The event attracted more than 400 participants from government, industry, academia and the public. The minister also highlighted the pilot rollout of TARUS, a digital payment platform at Brunei night markets and food stalls.
