Relocated families thrive in Xinjiang's small town with new jobs and services

Shiliuyun-Xinjiang Daily (Reporter Jazyra Nesipbek) news: In 2019, 14,000 people from the remote mountainous areas of Qipan Township, Kekeya Township, and Wuxiakebashi Town in Yecheng County, Kashi Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, left their former homes and settled here, opening a new chapter in their lives. Over the seven years that followed, the county-level and township-level Party committees and governments continuously addressed shortcomings and strengthened weak links, delivering essential public services—including education, healthcare, culture, water and electricity supply, and road transportation—right to the doorsteps of the residents. Their efforts have gone beyond simply building shelters; they have focused on fostering the town's internal capacity for self-sustaining development, shifting from reliance on external support to independent growth. Step by step, they have turned this Gobi settlement into a beautiful homeland where people live in contentment, work with fulfillment, and look forward to a happy future.
